Daughters are delightful!

My wonderful youngest, A, drove 4 1/2 hours round trip Friday with her dad to bring my oldest E home for the weekend. E and E have sold their second car and E (he) had to have the car for work. What a wonderful weekend we had together.

Two dogs, who built a foundation for a hot tub and gathered up sticks for our next fire;
shopping at the new Levis Town center, what a delightful place!;
Cooking and sharing Thanksgiving with my brother;
Hanging out and chatting;
E giving a makeover to my 85 year old mom!

Then, last night A drove E down to Upper Sandusky where her husband picked her up!

Such fun. Thanks God for the beauty - in and out - of the girls you gave us to raise for such a short time - and for the friendship that endures, even post weddings!

Sad, discouraged

Today I am carrying sadness. I need to be upstairs getting ready for work but I am here writing. So many disappointments yesterday.

I wish I knew and understood in what way I am not communicating the big picture of the incredible gift our middle school is to this community. Such a safe place for such a fragile time in life.

And I read Sara and don't wan't to sound whiny either. Thanks for the reminder! But I'm always supposed to be up - and I'm holding people up who don't have enough of His Spirit to hold them up by themselves and it wears on me. and then I feel like no one seems to understand that I too could use some encouragement...

Boy it's a good thing this is Friday! I am very blessed that my delightful daughters will both be around this weekend!

blogging is spreading

So now our oldest daughter has become a blogger...but secretly so I'm not allowed to share her address. Interesting...secret blogging.

Both our dads are in nursing homes and it is so sad to visit them that I always feel I am forcing myself to go or am feeling bad about not going for a few days...how difficult the end of life journey has become. They don't want extrodinary measures taken and yet have lived so long/become so weak that they cannot be cared for by their surviving wives at home because the physical care needed is to arduous...now I envy my husband the sharing of the burden with lots of nearby siblings!!!

It makes me feel very surrounded by sadness, living through this end of life journey with those who brought us to physical life. Pray for us all.

tired, and late

I guess it's been a long time since I blogged and I'm in trouble again with that "not really doing this" girl! but honestly when do I have time.

Both my dad and Mark's dad are in the hospital. Mark's dad had a heart attack on Friday and mine went in today with congestive heart failure.

We got up before six to serve bacon and OJ and waffles to two of the Jeremiah people who stayed at our house last night. We had the bus driver so they had to be at church by 6:45 a.m. then we rested until the nursing home called me at 8:30 a.m. and I've only been home from the hospital long enough to eat. oh well.

Now I'm off to call my brothers and go to bed. bye
