Diagnosis: Bleeding "serious" ulcer

Well, two units of blood Wednesday and one unit of blood Thursday brought mom's hemoglobin number up to almost normal. Friday I brought her home and yesterday and this morning helped prepare her for some tests today.

She had a complete endoscopy of the upper and lower GI and the DR. found an ulcer. He believes that has been the source of her blood loss and called it a pretty serious ulcer - I think he was referring to its size more than anything. He is running biopsies and we will go in next week to discuss courses of treatment.

She is encouraged to know why she has felt so sapped of energy and where the lightheaded feeling has been coming from so that is good. THANKS for all of your prayers

Anemia is confirmed

After a call from the doctor's office, I took mom to the hospital to be admitted and receive a transfusion. So that part is done and now we wait for her to have tests to determine the source of the suspected internal bleeding! Keep praying - thanks.

It IS kind of a party up on that floor with another church friend down the hall in ICU and a stream of church friends coming to offer support. Thank God for the support we receive when we need it!!! And thank God for that friend and his diagnosis (finally) and slow but steady progress!
