Snips and Snails and Puppy dog tails

Well, both of our daughters are married to men who fit this profile from the nursery rhyme, and so now, daughter number 2 also has a puppy to care for.

I write this as I wait to hear how the first night went - did Marty (the VERY VERY CUTE bassett hound, 7 week old boy they brought home last night) and/or Anna get any sleep? Did Marty and Anna follow the rules and stay in their own (separate) beds? Is the new carpet still ok in their house? :) Will J get any sleep today????

Their Dad and I admired our kitty again today - always the right size for our lap, self cleaning, self pottying, self feeding and watering....but the puppies are fun to visit with too!

Update

Hello - I've been told I'm not updating often enough! By a non blogger! that's ok though, it really is past time.

Finally, we are in late September and the school year has really begun. So much is always unsettled at the very beginning each year! Now we have the final budget done for the year, and we have all the students happily settled into their classrooms and I can begin to do my real work of the year.

The large project work seems to change yearly for me, but this year it is helping by leading our school through the reaccreditation process. That will be a big deal this year and will entail lots and lots of committed adults meeting together. It's exciting as great ideas come out of the group work and it was so healthy for our school 7 years ago!

I'm hobby seeking this year too. Isn't that a weird focus for someone my age? I love to read and we have loved raising our children (our nest is empty now). I am finding, though, less and less of interest on the TV and if I read every evening I am not gone to a meeting somewhere it is too much! (Who ever thought I would say that about reading!!!)

So, last night I baked a cake! And a lovely lady Penny, in my bible study group, is going to teach a bunch of us to knit. We will see what I discover this year. Anyone out there with hobby ideas? Feel free to comment!

Bar or Station - Send your opinion now!

Well I got a bit more caught up at work this week....that's as good as it gets, probably...AND that paper clip girl is an amazing computer whiz if anyone didn't already know!!!! :)

Our Middle School is going to serve coffee and morning snacks when the new building is done...so here is the opinion poll:

I've been calling it - repeatedly - a Coffee Bar - but a fellow office employee (the one that drinks, actually!) suggested that it would not sound right in our school setting for parent to talk about hanging out in our bar! What an interesting idea. She has been using the words "Coffee Station". So, world, any ideas????

:)

Catching Up

Finally I have caught up all of the work on my desk at home that accumulated during the hectic last month of summer. A's wedding was great fun, but it is nice to get the organization of our business lives at home under control!

We have been relaxing by the pool this afternoon and that's been fun too. Now we have the A and J pair here to swim and eat supper so I gotta go.

This will be another busy week at school and I am looking forward to the day that I can say that I am caught up there too! (Yeah, right!!!) That may not happen until AFTER I retire!

Weddings and Wisdom

The wedding today was delightful. My dear friends - less than half my age and way more than half my wisdom. How did they get so smart so quick? It helps to start walking with God sooner in life.

She was so happy that when they were dancing I thought she would jump up and down. It was fun to see friends we haven't seen for awhile and to eat dinner with my own whole new family of 6!

Thanks God! For marriage and weddings and daughters and sons - real and adopted!
