Week turned wild!

Well Eddie did great at his interview and was very impressed with Wright's Medical University. He would be very pleased to attend school there and appears to have a good chance of being offered a space. He is still waiting to hear about other possible interviews...

In the meantime he is being deployed. He had heard a couple of weeks ago that he would probably be deployed to the south for a month - and was awaiting a date. He is a trained firefighter with the Ohio Air National Guard. They called him tonight to pack for a month and warned him to be ready by Monday - in the meantime they are driving up to northern Michigan to pick up their new chocolate lab (a male - you can guess the plans they have for Mocha!). I am assuming they are getting a crew ready to clean up after Rita hits.

Yesterday afternoon my mom didn't feel well and her pulse was back up to 120 to 130 beats per minute and I got her into the cardiologist at the last minute (4:30 p.m.) and after the ECG he put her in the hospital. Her pulse has been controlled with medication since this happened January 5th and now it looks like she will need a pacemaker. That will keep her pulse high enough to keep her alive so they can lower it artificially with medication to control this irradict spasm.

This morning she was moved to ICU because it still wasn't steady and they thought they might have to use the shock paddles to bring it down, but by the time she got moved it had come down on it's own. My brother thinks the thought of the shock paddles was shocking enough! :) So it looks like tomorrow we wil get moved up to St. V's and she will have surgery tomorrow afternoon and then spend the night there and hopefully come home on Saturday - to Mark's early birthday party and Eddie's farewell party.

Pray for us all!

Eddie's first interview

Pray pray pray tomorrow - all of you who know Eddie, please. He has his first medical school interview at Wright State University - for 5 or 6 hours from about 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.!!! This is the beginning. We are also still praying that he will have some other interviews and some choices about where he goes!

Pray for our church congregation as we continue to make decisions!

A and J moved this weekend. Wow! A and I did final packing Friday night while Mark and J did major cleaning at the new place. Saturday, A's co-teacher S came and helped tremendously by cleaning out all of the kitchen cupboards while I followed along behind her doing the shelf paper. A coordinated placement of furniture, and helped us both. J and Mark had a couple of other officers to help them during the morning and then Mitchell stopped by and helped when it got down to only one officer helper.

Saturday we got the kitchen done and then went to a pastoral interview. Sunday afternoon and evening (in between a trip to the church to meet with the DS and preparing and eating dinner with my mom) we got some more moving done, purchased more supplies, hung pictures, drapes, kitchen lights, new shelves; unloaded and organized the guest room, unloaded and organized the master closet, and began to work on the office.

Tonight we will finish with shelves, the pantry and kitchen (didn't I say the kitchen was done? - yes, but we keep finding more things that go in there!), and hopefully the master and perhaps the guest room. The list goes on - whew! J is working on his office today so he can go teach class tonight. I get to rest (and go the doctor) today before I go back!

beginning

Well it is beginning - the search is on. Pray for our board tonight as they meet with the DS and again on Saturday as they meet a potential pastor. He will be preaching on Sunday which is great, as we will all have a better sense of God's call.

Pray for us as a congregation - a group of supporters to one another, and ministers to others and seekers. God, we want to see your Hand moving and doing amazing things among us, and we want to be responsible for the parts of our call we need to hear and follow.

Adrienne is terrific

My successor - I spent another day with her today. She is smart and passtionate about Montessori. She is on the learning curve but figuring things out. I am impressed with her, and all she has to learn and do, and feel blessed that God sent her our way.

Emily's husband Eddie just got back from delivering supplies to Louisianna. He is now making up the work he missed at school on Monday and Tuesday and preparing for the guard to send him down there for a month plus. He is a firefighter. He met with his professors today and they will work with him so that he can also complete his coursework. Pray for him and Emily...

25 years ago today

Cheryl and I were greeting the first group of students at Montessori. We were in the small room at the Nazarene church with the first orientation group of about 8 students - each hour from 9-noon. Mark and I were attending the Naz church but were not yet saved - we were listening, and were saved in November when Dr. Wm. Greathouse was there doing a "revival".

It saddens me this morning to remember that one of those original 24 children died as a young adult a few years ago. A sweet faced little boy... Pray for Jason's mom if you think of it.

I am at home, retired, in my pj's and blogging!

God You did such wonderful things for me and my family and the school. Thanks for Your blessings.
