August 2005 memories

E wanted me to post more photos so here you go. We went to bury my dad's cremains last August so here are some pix. It was wonderful to drive around and visit in the town where I grew up and went to college!!!

Church where M and I were married in January of 1974 - photo taken in August, 2005

My alma mater, U of Illinois - gorgeous!

My brothers, Charley, us, John and cousin Gary with mom, August 2005

This is my mom and her friend Kay (age 90) on her right (your left).

Finally, a lovely view of M and E.

My kid is back!

If you know who "is really doing this", you'll find her! Welcome back to the blogworld!

I need to know how to connect links to other bloggers from my page...any help out there?

And E needs to know what you think about the big MD vs. DO question raging at her house. The DO training is all of the medical training of the MD program, with added training on preventive medicine. Osteopathic training and not just Alleopathic for those who like latin. DO's have gained respect in the past 10 years and doesn't Eddie seem cutting edge to you guys? Ideas and opinions, pro and con to either, are welcome!

So, if you have an opinion, you can post it - here, or on E's...amireallydoingthis.blogspot.com They are really looking for input into this question.

Merry, merry, loving Christmas time to all - create wonderful memories and give thanks that Christ was born!

Ice and Snow

My wonderful husband is home today and looking forward to helping me drive mom to the doctor and her hair appointment. Go figure...he loves to drive...and loves to drive in the snow!

E has the day off too so far (A is still waiting) and that is good. E and E have been on the go this week. He is finished with this semester's finals (straight A's again! yeah E) and so they went to visit a friend's dad that had a triple bypass Sunday and then both medical schools under consideration on Monday...and they are stil confused. Keep praying for them as they make these decisions.

They got home late Monday from that, E taught Tuesday and then E drove her up here Tuesday after school. They loved seeing A and J's house and then right after that E went to bed. She is either fighting the flu or exhaustion or both. Wednesday she spent in a day long conference in Toledo and then they got home last night before the worst of the weather. She really needs today to sleep.

I will go out on our adverture of driving and then work on more wrapping, etc. for Christmas. I am perfectly happy to have M home to help! Enjoy the day, whether it gives you time off or added work or both!

God's peace in physical rest

Wow! it is mid December and I keep waiting to be bored/sad/dismayed that I retired. not so!

I am enjoying a much slower time frame to life and the experiences therein. My time for prayer has greatly increased, partly because there is so much less "on my mind" that I can keep others better focused "in my mind". Hope that makes sense.

Things happen all around me and sometimes to me, but God holds me tightly and I'm thankful. Blessings to all of you who are still working outside your homes, inside your homes raising the next generation of God's children, and trying to keep up with the "have to" expectations of life (bill paying, house cleaning, shopping, cooking etc.) I can't explain how much more I enjoy even those activities.

May God bless you as you prepare to, once again, celebrate the birth of Christ and His presence in your lives!

1st photo

Ok I hope this works. My brother Charley, who took this shot and has published some sci fi stories, labels this picture:

"This is a shot of A, moving her piano practically all by herself, with a little help from J and some cheerleading by E."

Those of you who know these guys will enjoy this shot, as it captures the personalities perfectly! Yes the cheerleader is the doctor-to-be...how many times has that happened anyway, cheerleaders who go to med school???

We have never moved that piano in an open trailer before; it was quite an adventure!

Love to all and THANKS to the wandering mind who helped me! MA Blogger
