God's Peace
Honestly, God is very good to me. Christ's daily presence and leadership hold me. His peace and presence amazing, and His Spirit's guidance is essential.
This month I have experienced several deaths. Again! Partly it's my age I realize - I am at the age where parents die and so this winter it has been the parents of friends. That is part of it. Then there was the tragic loss of a young and very dear mom whose children were much younger than I. I am just thankful that God holds and leads and guides through these times - not just me but her husband and children and family.
Mom's ulcer has meant changes in medicines that have caused her to experience severe and ongoing pain this month which leads to her getting weaker in the legs. Pray for her as we experience the rest of this month and hopefully get to the point where she can resume her pain meds. I'm glad I've been here for her - someone has to guide you when you are 86 and 3 pills/day are eliminated for a while and 16 added!!!! :)
We have purchased back a year and a half of public employment for M so that he can now retire in the summer of 08 and not 09 as we had originally calculated. We are praying about where our life is heading as we enter this new period of life.
My heart still aches for those I see so little of now: those who left my church during the transition and those I no longer see from the school. I am not a phone/chat person, but I have had enough of a network to stay in contact for when needed, i.e. see death paragraph above - my retirement has allowed me much more time to help the grieving dad focus on his children's future and provide some comfort during a week+ vigil. I have also had the joy of getting to know a teacher friend better because I have been able to be available to help her through some medical needs.
I continue to be thankful for my wonderful husband and great kids! They have given me respite when needed! Happy spring to all! MA B
