Your grandbaby is approximately 4.8 inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces, and he or she should weigh more than the placenta from this point on. Since the baby's hearing has become more finely tuned, he or she may respond to loud noises and A may feel movement at the sound of large trucks passing or a slamming door. Epidermal (skin) and fatty tissue are developing all over your baby's body to protect it after it is born and a substance called vernix is beginning to form on the skin tissue to protect it from the long exposure to amniotic fluid.
Unbelievable God - you are so GOOD
This is day 117 and she has 163 days to go!

Hey you have to do it when you're the mom! Our boy E just finished an intensive 10 week long human anatomy class...with a 92%! Wow - we are so proud of you E!
A and I drove down to Dayton yesterday and picked up E. She fed us lunch and then we had fun shopping! I bought new clothes for my new job - I will be starting with Newlove Realty this week. I passed both tests - 97% and 93% - after 3 weeks full time of class and two weeks of study. I am so ready to get out of the books and off to work!
So now I have new clothes - size 6!!! that is beyond exciting since I started this diet the first of this year as a 14!
A bought a couple new pregnancy shirts, and we got E gift cards for her birthday. E and A took me to my favorite store, E went and got us all Starbucks! and then they sat and watched me model clothes. It was lots of fun.
M came down later with J. J picked up A and they went off to J's mom's birthday dinner. E joined E and M and I and the four of us went to dinner. We are so proud of E. He has finished anatomy and feels good about the final - he had to learn 10,000 new words in 10 weeks time! This is his three day weekend off and Monday he starts a study of "The Molecular Basis of Medicine" which will be a lot of molecular biology and biochemistry. That intense full time course will go for the next 10 weeks until Christmas.
At this point A's heart is enlarged and working overtime. Its output has increased 20 percent from normal and, by the time she is ready to deliver, her heart will be working up to 50 percent more than normal to supply her and the baby with the oxygen needed.
Your grandbaby weighs about 1.75 ounces and is about 4 to 4.5 inches in length. His or her heart is growing strong and, even though it is little, it is pumping between 20 and 25 quarts of blood every 24 hours. By the time A is ready to deliver, baby's heart will be circulating up to 300 quarts of blood every 24 hours. Many fetuses develop their future hairline pattern this week, although it can take quite a bit longer for some babies' hairline or hair to fully develop.
