Vacation frustration!

Well here I am at work on my first day of vacation...you know, the vacation I was going to stay home for, since we were here every day of Christmas break except the 25th and 26th getting the building ready!

None of our security system is working...it all quit yesterday at 4. They have tried to fix it remotely three times and are now planning to send a human. Even the security system panel is dead so we can't secure the building. We are very unhappy with this company...habitect...I had to think about whether or not to post their name, but really, come on, it's only been two months and it shouldn't be broken!

I know, I just said there's no stuff in heaven. And this is certainly stuff - human made - that won't work - so I will try to keep the perspective that this doesn't matter!!! but if they can't get here in an hour, I have to call someone else into work. What a pain!

And I am sitting here trying not to work and to just hang out and wait for him to call back and that too is very hard to do! I need to go home and make my snacks for the party tonight! ............. I am waiting for someone to call me right back. ......

There's no stuff in heaven

I have a deep seated sense of peace and contentment. Tranquility. It is part of entering the journey of the 50s and being in God's hand. I know and have peace with what I believe matters and I am thankful for these things, not the stuff.
I am thankful:
My Dad was eager to see God
My life was spared
Kerri's life was spared
Ashley is with us feeling safe at school
Tricia gets Aaron next year
Emily and Eddie are blissfully happy
Anna and Justin are here with us to enjoy so often
Puppies aren't as awful as I thought
I am enjoying knitting again
God has my school and every child therein
My husband loves me, warts and all
Scott is a wonderful pastor
Doug and Cheryl made us welcome at church
God is and does and cares and abides!

connundrum

The thing is...people have no idea. They say
- take time off, your father - in - law died
- take time off your dad died
- take time off you were in a serious accident
- and then...you hear...this should have been done more thoroughly (advertising for our open house). Go figure. When you have responsibilities that are yours alone - and really take time off - and don't check in/try to delegate - this is what happens.

No ones fault - but a reality of the crisis - think about it next time world, when you recommend someone take time for themself - that then, they may not meet your standards and they may disappoint you because - they took some time for themself!

Pray pray pray for the right middle school teacher. It is time to fill the hole. God help us, and help us to meet this need in your will.

Another car

Well when you total your car you have to get a new one so after two weeks we have gotten around to ordering.

We hope to have a car by the end of the month. It will be different yet similar to the old one and you'll just have to wait and see it I guess!

I think we all already knew that the best husband for Marie is different from the best husband for Emily!

Hope you are all having a weekend! that is restful!

oops the dogs

and I forgot the dogs again. Pray for them if you think you should pray for dogs! :)

What a winter

Oh spring come soon. It has been a wild couple of months!!! On the 21st I totalled my car. My shoulders back and neck are still quite sore but I just keep on going.

I was at fault - missed a stop sign, and survived an amazing event. Now we are short a vehicle and waiting to order til something comes in to test drive.

So I guess I need to wake up and pay more attention. I even got my first ticket (which I deserved) - a humbling experience going to court!

My family is wonderful and I realized even more how precious and fragile they all are. So say a prayer of protection over Justin every time he goes to work, of peace over Eddie as he studies for the MCAT in April, of grace and joy over Anna and Emily as they learn to be wives and of blessing over the very best husband in the world - Mark!
